Beja: The ULSBA received a new Medical Car Emergency and Resuscitation (VMER).
Under the renewal process VMER Park, the Alentejo Local Health Unit received a new Medical Car Emergency and Resuscitation, which is based at the Hospital of Beja and replaces the existing car.
According to information provided on the site INEM, or Office No. 3350/2017 of 20 April 2017 It has come to define a new model of acquisition and management of VMER fleet to address the need for rapid acquisition and replacement of these vehicles, thus ensuring higher quality in the services provided to users, greater job security and of road users, and better management of the park VMER.
With this new model, became the Health Units to be made directly to the acquisition of vehicles. INEM fell to subsidize the purchase and coordinate all the activity of management and joint operation of VMER, and Shared Services of the Ministry of Health to ensure the conduct of procurement procedures, centralizing the process on behalf of hospitals.
The ownership of VMER becomes of health facilities, that should ensure its maintenance, including the hiring of safe and permanent state of operation, in collaboration with the INEM with spare replacement car, in the event of inoperability.
According to the INEM, the network of VMER is currently stabilized and implemented throughout the mainland, with 44 operation in vehicles, 14 in the north, 10 no center, and 20 no on, 13 of which in the region of Lisbon and Tagus Valley, 4 Alentejo and 3 in the Algarve region.
The VMER are pre-hospital intervention vehicles used for the rapid transport of a medical team to the site where the patient / victim. Its main objective is the pre-hospital stabilization and medical care during transport accident victims or sudden illness in emergencies, assuming an important role in supporting populations.
The VMER act in direct dependence on Emergency Patients Guidance Centers of INEM and have hospital-based.
