Beja: Attorney indicted of crimes of trafficking in persons and usurpation of functions

Hugo Machado, lawyer with an office in Beja, it was yesterday (Thursday) consisting defendant, with identity and residence term (TIR) by inspectors from the Judicial Police, indicted four crimes, Two human trafficking and two of usurpation of functions.
The procedures are the result of two certificates withdrawn by judges Vitor Maneta and Ana Batista during the trial of two cases in which they were judged two Romanian clan accused of human trafficking, occurred in June and December of last year, the Court of Beja.
During the sessions of the trials, the testimonies of some of the defendants and witnesses, it was stated that the barrister would be responsible for signing the contracts between the companies and Retromania Vedeta Smile and workers, as well as bank accounts. Hugo Machado was also named as the "accountant" of these companies and in one case have passed by "Inspector of Social Security".
These situations led to the two judges had extracted certificates which referred to the public prosecutor (MP), for malpractices assessment and that lead the lawyer to be pronounced crimes by PJ.
Processes were delivered now that MP Beja take care not to deduct or charge against Hugo Machado and the propose for trial.
The first case was tried in June 2014, where six Romanian citizens from Groza clan were sentenced to twenty-four years and three months in prison and three were acquitted.
Gheorghe, group leader, the only effective sentenced to prison, serving a 6 years and 9 months.
In December, in the second case it was applied twenty-three years and three months in prison was the total sentences of six defendants. All the sentences were suspended and left in freedom.
Last September, Hugo Machado was sentenced by the Court of Beja, by disobedience, against military da GNR. The barrister was punished with a fine of 100 days, the reason 14 euros/ dia, in total 1.400 euros and an additional penalty of disqualification, for a period of 6 months, decisions of which appeal to the Court of Évora Relationship.
