Beja: Two vehicles set on fire overnight. Crime is suspected.


Two cars were set on fire, during a morning, no historical center of Beja. Everything points to revenge for passionate reasons.

The warning was given about the 2.30 hours by residents of the building next to which the vehicles were parked. The owners live on a side street about 150 meters. The two vehicles were parked in Largo de Santo Amaro, in the vicinity of Beja Castle, one of which burned completely and the other suffered extensive damage.

Two homes suffered minor damage to windows and blinds that melted in the heat. According to the PSP, oil was spread on the stairs of the building.

The PSP was called to the scene and preserved the same, and the inspectors from the Faro Directorate of the Judiciary Police (PJ) They are already carrying out on-site inspections, having heard a witness to the incident, which may involve an individual fleeing shortly after the fire starts.

Contrary to what was announced by a media outlet, Beja, no arrests were made, much less by the PSP, since the case falls under the jurisdiction of the PJ.

The suspected individual is expected to be interviewed in the next few hours, and depending on your statements, or lack thereof, and may then be detained for subsequent presentation to a Criminal Investigation Judge, for first interrogation and application of possible coercive measures.

Four members of the Beja Volunteer Fire Department were involved in fighting the flames., supported by a firefighting vehicle.
