No list was presented for the Social Bodies of the Firefighters of Beja. The outgoing director will remain in office.
The elections for the Social Bodies of the Beja Firefighters were scheduled for the next day 21 November for a one-year term, but the act was annulled since no candidate list was delivered.
According to information provided to Lidador NotÃcias (LN) by Rodeia Machado, outgoing president, “there was no presentation of lists. We will analyze it on Wednesday and predictably we will have to make another attempt, that is how the Civil Code and the Statutes define. Until then, the management assumes only the function of conditioned managementâ€, concluded.
The intermediate electoral act was convened following the resignation of the board and other management bodies of the Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Beja (AHBVB), presented in the past day 4 of October and in view of this situation, the outgoing President of the General Assembly called the electoral act with a view to electing the new Governing Bodies.
Until the elections are held, and after the failed attempt at elections of the Social Bodies, as the president revealed to LN, the outgoing board will ensure the day-to-day management of the institution.
Rodeia Machado was chairman of the Beja Fire Department during 30 years and vice-president of the League of Portuguese Firefighters (LBP), during 16 year old, position he left in January of this current year with the departure of the board led by Jaime Marta Soares, having received the Phoenix of Honor, one of the most important Honorary Distinctions of the LBP.
