Beja: BD festival "values the authors and the historical heritage of the city"
The International Festival of Beja Designed reunites authors from around the world. The 15th edition which starts on Friday and proposes 19 exhibitions, It was presented yesterday.
In addition to the shows with authors from Belgium, Brazil, Colombia, Spain, US gives America, France, Holland, England, Italy and Portugal, the initiative also proposes, book launches, conversations with authors, autograph sessions and concerts.
Visitors have, available to the Book Market, over 60 present editors and sale of original art. The exhibits will be made available at the House of Culture, UNESCO Center and Beja Regional Museum.
Radio Pax, Paul Arsenio, President of Beja of Appeal stated that the initiative will "enhance the authors and the historical heritage of the city". The mayor pointed out that this 15th edition is "richer and wider".
The President of the Municipality maintained that the Festival "is on track to assert Beja as one of the major European centers of Comics shows".
Paulo Monteiro, director of the initiative explained that the concern is "to bring foreigners to the Festival". In their view, this issue is very "eclectic with comic-artists of all stripes".
Paulo Monteiro, also said that, in Beja, are there 5 people living exclusively from illustration and comics.
The International Festival Designed was presented yesterday in the House of Culture Bedeteca, Beja and runs until 16 June.
