Beja: U.F.Salvador and Santa Maria da Feira without approved Executive.


The swearing in of the elected members of the Union of Parishes Salvador and Santa Maria da Feira took place yesterday, in Beja, but the votes against the CDU and the “Beja Consegue” coalition, made impossible the constitution of the Executive. PS Mayor takes office at the Municipal Assembly.

Thirteen elected members of the Parish Assembly were sworn in, with the Socialist Party (PS) represented by 6 elected, a CDU 4 and the coalition "Beja Consegue", led by the PSD, and still composed of CDS-PP, PPM, Liberal Initiative and Alliance, who elected 3, passed the vote of the Executive.

The two proposals presented by the Socialist Party (PS) for the constitution of the Executive of the Union of Parishes of Salvador and Santa Maria da Feira were failed by the elected members of the CDU and the coalition “Beja Consegue”, with 7 votes, against 6 do PS.

A first proposal aimed at electing the president and all four members of the PS, the most voted force, which was refused and a second one that included the president and three socialist members and Francisco Caixinha, the most voted element of the CDU, also ended up rejected by the coalitions., CDU and “Beja Consegue”.

Against the backdrop, Antonio Ramos, the re-elected president of the União de Freguesias, finished work, marking new Parish Assembly, for the next day 28 October, that not allowing a consensus solution may lead to the calling of new elections.

When Lidador News (LN), the mayor confirmed "the rejection of the two proposals presented", arguing that "a public clarification of the situation would be made", concluded.

The social democrat Hugo Carulo, leader of the coalition “Beja Consegue”, he recalled that "it was the People who took the absolute majority from the PS and wants another solution", thus justifying the negative votes to LN, adding that "we were in tune (CDU and coalition), but we are willing to join the Executive even if the CDU does not want to. We do not at least defend 4 PS elements e 1 of our coalition", not forgetting that in the Parish Assembly the PS “has no majority”, finished.

Remember that after the Local Elections, the Municipality of Beja of the PSD issued a communiqué on the results achieved in the two Parish Assemblies of the city, the social-democratic structure states that "they have increased their elected representatives and may condition future executives to be constituted".

Turn, Francisco Caixinha, of the Unitarian Democratic Coalition (CDU), reported that “Let's work towards fulfilling what we promise our electorate, letting the majority form rule”, noting that there is no greater interest in the CDU being part of the Executive, adding that “in the Parish assembly we will make the uncompromising defense of the most important decisions to be taken in favor of the population”, finished.

On Monday, the swearing in of those elected for the Municipal Assembly of Beja takes place and even though the Executive of the Union of Parish Salvador and Santa Maria da Feira is not constituted, the socialist António Ramos will take office.

according to number 3 of article 42 of Law no. 169/99, establishing the competency framework, as well as the legal system of operation, of municipal and parish bodies, it is guessed that: “in the municipal assembly sessions the citizens who topped the most voted lists in the election for the parish assemblies of the municipality participate, even if they are not yet installed".

the re-elected president, Antonio Ramos, hair candidate PS, got 37,84% to which they corresponded 1.728 votes, more 371 than the CDU list, headed by Francisco Caixinha. The PS could 6 mandates (Antonio Ramos, Bruno Sustelo, Garlic Custody, Liliana Ensign, Rui Revez and Rita Brito), the CDU managed 4 mandates (Francisco Caixinha, Evaristo Amaro, Luzia Rosário and Natacha Lemos, e o PSD 3 (Hugo Carulo, Linabela Martins and Francisco Soares).
