Castro Verde: Castro Fair takes place on the days 18, 19 and 20 October.


The tradition takes place again on the third weekend of October! A Feira de Castro, the largest and most emblematic traditional fair in the south of the country and a meeting point for family and friends, merchants and customers, It takes place in the days 18, 19 and 20 October.

This weekend and, parallel to the entertainment of the Fair itself, the Castro Verde City Council promotes a cultural program that begins in day 18, Friday, at 6pm with the opening of the Exhibition “Dances Project”, of the IP2N4-Art Movement, at the Municipal Forum.

An exhibition that brings together works by 10 Alentejo artists, with dance as a unifying theme, and which reflects the different “looks” of the various artists on the movement made into art.

At night, by 22h00, DAVID CARREIRA, one of the most influential and charismatic Portuguese artists of his generation, takes the stage at Praça da República, for a concert that promises a good dose of animation and originality, followed by the performance of DJ Gonçalo Ferro, MC Fausto Bellucci, by New Sheet – Brand Activation, from 11:30 p.m. Saturday, 19 October, the day starts with a street party January 1st Philharmonic Band (10h00) through the main streets of Feira and Praça da República.

In this day, highlighting the 5º Meeting of Castrenses in the Diaspora which takes place at 12:30 p.m., than EB2,3 Dr. Antonio Francisco Colaço, and aims to bring together a lunch-living, the castrensian living outside the county.

Saturday also brings the “Portuguese cowboy” to Praça da República ZÉ AMARO, one of the most renowned national artists and one of the pioneers of country music in Portugal, for a concert that no one will want to miss! From 24h00, it's up to DJ Sara Santini entertain the audience.

On the morning of Sunday, 20, last day of Castro Fair 2024, the Children's Park receives another Rafeiros Alentejano Competition, in an ACRA organization – Rafeiro do Alentejo Breeders Association, in partnership with Castro Verde City Council, and with the support of the Campo Branco Farmers Association.

parallel and, over three days, There are other initiatives taking place within the scope of the Feira de Castro cultural program, like the already usual Coral Parade, which this year has the participation of four groups, the Campaniça Viola Players Meeting, Sing to Despique and jolt, that marks your 32edition, Algarve folklore with the Faro Folklore Group, street animation with the group “Next Combo” and Bird Fair, promoted by the Castro Verde Ornithological Club.
