CIMB: Community promotes "Fair Libraries" during 2019.


The Intermunicipal Community of the Lower Alentejo (CIMB) saw approved an application to the Alentejo 2020 to carry out an initiative that covers the whole of this community.

The "Fair Libraries”, It will take place between March and December 2019, in a traveling, the Public Libraries of 13 Municipalities proponents of cymbal.

The project aims to promote the work done by libraries to persons in their communities, thus underlining the strategic importance of libraries in the territory and in the exercise of a more informed and aware citizenship, through the contribution of services to personal development and social.

inviting, especially, people who do not know or use libraries, It is objective of this initiative, taking place during 2 weeks in each Library cimbal, let know, not only the services provided by each library in a unique way and innovative, but also free to promote community participation in various activities: reader mediation sessions for parents and children; the ability to chat with authors and writers; poetry shows and music and even a traveling exhibition on the world of libraries.

A “Fair Libraries "is a co-financed initiative 85%, hair maximum value of 87,453.00 €, and will be organized by the Inter-Network of the Lower Alentejo Libraries (RIBBA), incorporated in 2018 by cymbal and DGBAL - Book Directorate General, Archives and Libraries, in order to intervene and contribute to a cultural strategy of supra-municipal character in the promotion of literacies from the specificity of the equipment and services of libraries.
