Air Force: Arrival of the KC-390 flight simulator at BA11, in Beja.


The Lidador News (LN) found that the flight simulator for the KC-390 transport aircraft acquired by the Air Force from Embraer, will arrive today at Air Base No. 11 (BA11), in Beja.

Delivery will be made by two road transports, with the arrival of the first part of the simulator scheduled for 08,00 hours and the second after 15,00 hours, not entering through the BA11 Armas Doors.

This is the second KC-390 flight simulator, since the first one was installed in São José dos Campos, Sao Paulo, No brazil, manufactured by the German company Rheinmetall.

On the sidelines of the Beja Air Show, held at Air Base nº11, in June 2023, about the acquisition program for the transport aircraft that will soon equip the Squadron 506 yes FAP, or General CEMFA, Gen. Cartaxo Alves, said that the flight simulator for the Portuguese Air Force's KC-390 Millennium transport aircraft, will arrive “in the first quarter of 2024”, what happens one year later. Regarding the KC-390 transport plane, the Air Force has already received two of the five aircraft acquired from Embraer.

It is recalled that in July 2019, the Council of Ministers approved the authorization of the acquisition from the Embraer consortium,road access to it will also benefit,SA of five aircraft and a flight simulator, no value 1,017 million euros to which more 9,8 million euros invested by the Air Force in the requalification of the hangar that to receive the KC-390 and the construction of the building for the new simulator that the Brazilian builder awarded to the German company Rheinmetall Defense Electronics.
