"A Serra S. Martin goes to town ". cultural day of the parish of St. Martin, the Casa do Alentejo, in Lisbon.
A Casa do Alentejo, in Lisbon, today will promote a Day of S Parish. Martin Amoreiras, county of Odemira, with the completion of several exhibitions, exhibition of regional products and cultural activities, with the theme "Sierra S. Martin goes to town ".
This is an initiative of ADA - Development Association of Amoreiras-Gare, with the support of S Parish Council. Martin Amoreiras and the Municipality of Odemira.
The activity day begins by 11.00 hours, with craft exhibition and sale of regional products, especially bread, filled, cheese, mel, sweet and arbutus. During the morning there will be the performance of the Choir Female Voices of Amoreiras-Gare.
A partir das 14.30 hours, the afternoon will be filled with the presentation of popular poets and parish of accordionists, the performance of Amoreirense Musical Group and Coral Female Voices of Amoreiras-Gare Group. In parallel, a partir the 16.00 hours, in the tavern of Casa do Alentejo, Sing will be the jolt.
The S Parish. Martin Amoreiras is one of the oldest parishes of Odemira, while its foundation remount the fifteenth century.
With an area of 143,02 km2 and a population of around one thousand inhabitants, its territory comprises the villages of S. Martin Amoreiras (parish council), Aldeia das Amoreiras (the oldest), Conqueiros, Corte Malhão e Amoreiras-Gare (the latest population that was born with the construction of the railway line South, linking Barreiro to Vila Real de Santo António).
