Ourique: School success motivates applying for EU funds.
The Municipality of Ourique has focused on enhancement of existing educational provision in the county and supporting families to access existing higher education provision outside the municipal territory. Education is a fundamental pillar of combating inequalities and preparation of the young for the challenges of the future.
The commitment to education has been achieved through social support and close relationship with the educational community, always in the search for solutions to the locks, in appreciation of the work done by school communities and generating an appealing educational provision for children and young people from Ourique.
In this context, the Municipality of Ourique is to run the project "Discovering the Knowledge" co-financed by the ESF, by POR Alentejo 2020 and contracted by cimbal, to add to the efforts of another instrument of affirmation of a good educational offer.
The project "Discovering the Knowledge" for the reduction and prevention of early school failure and promoting equal access to a kindergarten, primary and secondary good quality, It aims at mobilizing the community to promote school success and will last 3 school years, already starting its activity in this school year, a partnership with the Group of Schools of Ourique, that will allow the realization of different activities, directed to students, parents / guardians, teachers and non-teaching staff.
The project is part 8 activities: Meetings for the articulation / communication between entities; training activities of the various stakeholders of the educational community; Seminars for the sharing of best practices; Creating a School Success Promotion Office, with affectation 2 senior technicians with qualifications in the area of ​​psychology and speech therapy; Streamlining the activities of education classes for Citizenship and the 2nd 3 Cycle; extracurricular activity creation in the 1st Cycle of Active Education, devoted to methods and study habits; Workshops Study Support; Action for parental involvement and animation activities for parents and educators.
The application approved and executed under the POR Alentejo 2020, It presents an investment of € 150,538.80, cofinanced 85% ESF and will be an important complement to the work undertaken by the Municipality of Ourique and the educational community Ourique Group of Schools in the construction of an educational offer quality that contributes to the growth of children and youth Ourique, enabling them for the future.
The Municipality of Ourique continues to implement policies focused on local people, the enhancement of the region and in the affirmation of Ourique and its rural world.
