Penedo Gordo / Beja: Fair of Cavadas 6 a 8 April (See the program).

The Parish Union of Santiago Major and St. John the Baptist, promotes in Penedo Gordo, county Beja, the Fair Cavadas.

A known source of Cavadas, located on the road linking Boulder Municipal Gordo in Santa Clara de Louredo, names the 1st edition of the fair, to sing and taste, with free admission. The event is organized by the Greater Santiago Parishes Union and St. John the Baptist.

Sing Alentejo, snack and food and regional cheeses, as well as workshops, sport and music, forming part of the Cavadas shows the program which runs from 6 a 8 April.

PROGRAM

06 April (Friday)- 17h00: Opening; 19h00: Inauguration of the Fair; 19h30: Sing in Schools (Kindergarten and 1st Cycle Penedo Gordo); 20h00: Alentejo Cantado; 21h00: colchoneros e 22h00: Southern Voices.

07 April (Saturday)- 10h00: Mesh Tournament; 15h30: Village girls; 16h30: Beringel Choral Group; 18h30: From fashion to fashion; 20h00: Ranch of Singers of Vila Nova de São Bento and 21h30: the Vocalists.

08 April (Sunday)- 09h30: Fountains Walk; 15h30: Small Cantadores Beringel; 16h30: Santa Vitória-Estrelas do Alentejo Choral Group; 17h30: Singers of Disquiet; 18h30: Improvised and 20h00: closing.

LEGEND OF THE SOURCE OF Cavadas (according to the website Geocaching.com)
The Source of Cavadas is one of the symbols of Penedo Gordo. For years, it gives water to the inhabitants and all outsiders. It was built by Luís Filipe Fernandes in 1876.
