Military Criminal Investigation Unit of Moura da GNR arrested during yesterday, a farm in the municipality of Serpa, six people, four men and two women, aged between 25 and 47 years old and seized 708 kilos of olives, that they had been stolen.
After a complaint from the owner olive grove, the military surprised individuals, all originating from eastern countries, to steal with olive harvesting machine manuals.
In addition to the olive, which was returned to its rightful owner, two cars were seized. The six detainees were made defendants and the facts reported to the Judicial Court of Serpa.
During Phase 2 of Operation Safe Field that GNR is carrying out until Friday, 31 January, in farming district of Beja, the corporation has 12 people and seized 3.210 kilograms of olive and detained 12 people, after adding more detainees and the seizure of olive Serpa.
