The Local Health Unit of the Lower Alentejo (ULSBA) left an alert on your website, where it communicates the temporary closure of the Pediatric Emergency and Birth Unit at Hospital José Joaquim Fernandes, in Beja.

It is not possible to complete the pediatric medical scale necessary to guarantee the normal functioning of the maternal and child area, it is necessary:
- Close the Birth Center (Contingency Level 1C) from 8am on 14 from november to 08 horas do dia 15 November;
- Proceed with the closure of the Pediatric Emergency Department of 20 horas do dia 14 from november to 08 horas do dia 16 November.
NOTE: the gynecology/obstetrics emergency service will be open.
