Alentejo: Alqueva reinforces public supply. Edia and AdP sign agreements.
A EDIA – Enterprise Development and Infrastructure Alqueva, S.A. and AdP - Ãguas de Portugal, They will sign technical and operational cooperation agreements to strengthen the water supply in the Alentejo region.
The ceremony, which will be attended by the Ministers of Agriculture, Luis Capoulas Santos, and Environment, João Pedro Matos Fernandes, will take place on Saturday, day 17 Feb., by 10:00h, the Pumping Station Estacio, where ever arise Company Public works Waters of the Alentejo for a new Water Treatment Plant.
The agreements between the two public authorities aim to increase the reliability and resilience of water supply systems, responding to the effects of climate change. This collaboration will be achieved by the creation of new links from the Alqueva system conducts the reservoirs and water treatment plants, managed by companies of the AdP Group, and the strengthening of existing links.
Among the works planned, contained in the binding alqueva Sines, the dam of Monte da Rocha and strengthening the Bayou Watch.
It is also planned to carry out studies on other water supply infrastructure to meet the most demanding scenarios of water scarcity in the Alentejo region.
