Alentejo: Spain house awarded the best companies in the region.
The House of Spain awarded the best companies in the Alentejo, the Third Edition of Excellence Awards, event held last Friday.
The House of Spain awarded the best companies in the Alentejo in an event held in Reguengos de Monsaraz. The Third Edition of Excellence Awards will distibuir prizes in levels: Big enterprises, Small and Medium Business, and the best the audio level Alentejo, Baixo Alentejo, Alentejo Central and Alentejo Litoral.
Best Large Companies, with the top billing 25 million, has first to Almina Minas do Alentejo, second PSA Sines Container Terminal and thirdly the Hutchinson Rubber Campo Maior.
Best Small and Medium Business, with turnover between 10 and 25 million, They are Rui & Catkin (first place), AIS Automotive Interior Systems (second place) Roasting and Camel (third place). The House of Spain will also reward the best company in the Alentejo, EPDM Company Drilling and Mining Development, do Alentejo Central, the Spur Sales and Marketing, Alto Alentejo, the NovaDelta Trade and Coffee Industry, and Alentejo Litoral, Repsol Polymers. CARMIM - Agricultural Cooperative of Reguengos de Monsaraz will receive the Award Alentejo.
The selection criteria of the companies were based exclusively on quantitative data relating to the results of last year in terms of Gross Value Added, that allows to consider the company's contribution to the national and regional economy, Turnover growth, which incorporates the concept of dynamism, and Return on Capital, which measures the "prize" that the company gives to its shareholders. Also evaluated the Real Productivity, that is the result of management excellence, Employment Creation, which reveals the social responsibility of the company, and Financial Autonomy, which measures its financial equilibrium.
In 2014, as 200 largest companies in the Alentejo earned 5,2 billion, by registering a nine percent growth compared to the previous year. They increased their employment by three percent, reaching 21.200 workers, by which obtained a productivity 245 thousand euros per worker. The gross value added generated by these companies was 23,7 percent of turnover, as a result of increased profits. 13 percent of companies had losses, but the average yield was 3,5 percent of sales and 10,8 percent of capital, having an average financial autonomy 31,5 percent of assets financed by equity.
The program of the Third Edition of Excellence Awards held at the Municipal Library, where it held a cross-border seminar that will address the theme "Infrastructures: Alqueva, Beja Airport, Sines and Logistics Platform ", "Tourism and Heritage", "Export: Markets Featured ", and "Management Tools: Credit and Insurance Academy ".
The awards ceremony took place at CARMIM, a ceremony that was presided by Roberto Cricket, Chairman of the Coordination and Regional Development of Alentejo, e Guillermo Fernandez Vara, President da da Junta Extremadura. Pedro do Corval, considered the largest in the country with 22 potteries in activity, and the medieval village of Monsaraz, with tasting Gin Sharish, produced in Reguengos de Monsaraz.
