Alentejo: Hot Air Balloon Festival, of 7 a 15 November.
The 19th edition of the Hot Air Balloon Festival, will take place between 7 and 15 November, in Alter do Chão municipalities, Border and Monforte.
The skies of the Alentejo will become more colorful, from Sunday, with the start of the biggest festival of hot air balloons held in Portugal, involving 35 teams from various European countries.
Promoted by Publibalão company and with the collaboration of Alentejo without Borders - Ballooning Club, The 19th edition of the Hot Air Balloon International Festival will take place until the day 15 Of this month, in Alter do Chão municipalities, Border and Monforte, in Portalegre district.
This year, the event will count on the participation of 35 teams, de Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, United Kingdom, Netherlands and Germany.
In addition to conducting tethered flights, the festival has to offer, daily, free flights (The usual balloon trips).
In previous editions, the number of registered teams have been higher, but the current economic situation does not allow the participation of a larger number of teams at the festival.
The International Festival of Hot Air Ballooning, the oldest of its kind in Portugal, It has roots in Portalegre district, and provided a basis for the opening, in 2012, the first school in the country for hot air balloon pilots, National Border.
