Aljustrel: Autarchy redevelop WWTP Carregueiro and Aldeia dos Elvas.
The Municipality of Aljustrel will launch the tender the works called "Water Treatment Plant" village of Elvas and Carregueiro.

The wastewater treatment (sewage) and water supply (potable water) It is the responsibility of agda – Alentejo Public Water, SADDLE. Yet, if the population of the locality in question is less than 100 population (for drinking water) and 300 population (for sewage), responsibility reverts to the authorities, as it happens in the village of Elvas locations and Carregueiro, who have eminently rural characteristics and where there is a lower population 100 population.
Currently the waste water from these two localities of Aljustrel Municipality are treated in septic tank. The redevelopment of the two treatment plants will allow to substantially improve the treatment of waste water from the population of Carregueiro and Aldeia dos Elvas, so that they can be discharged into water streams in compliance with all legal parameters.
Given the equivalent population to be served by treatment station, the available area and the quality of treatment goals, the proposed solution is part of the treatment of waste water in a compact WWTP, dimensioned to 75 equivalent inhabitants.
These two treatment plants will ensure the treatment of wastewater produced in these small towns, contributing to improving the quality of life of this population and to preserve the quality of water bodies and the environment, priorities assumed by the Aljustrel municipality for the entire county, regardless of the size of the agglomerates.
