Aljustrel: Municipality signed rental agreement to convert the streetlights to LED.


Aljustrel installs innovative system for energy saving, becoming the first town south of the country to convert to LED street lighting, a total investment of more than 600 thousand euros.

The contract signing ceremony will take place this Friday, by 15,00 hours, the Training and Cultural Animation Workshops, and will be attended by the Secretary of State for Energy, Jorge Sanches Insurance.

It is an operating lease contract to eight years with the ACA Group for the installation of approximately 3 500 LED lamps in the street. The total investment of more than 600 thousand euros in the installation of this advanced system fixtures represent an average net monthly savings 6 837€, which is equivalent to a total of 654 441€ at the end of the project.

The replacement of conventional technology fixtures LED technology lights, this county, It represents a reduction of energy consumption by 71% and a minimization of environmental impact, in about 28 tons of CO2 in the total project.

With the implementation of this project, which has the technological partnership ARQUILED, the municipality modernize public lighting in the municipality virtually no cost, by own generated savings with guarantee of the equipment 10 year old, for a product that has a shelf-life of 15 a 20 year old.
