Aljustrel: Municipality obtained financing to promote local markets.


With the approval of this project,, that is why, markets in all parishes in the municipality of Aljustrel and to stimulate the sectors of small producers and artisans and encourage consumption, increasingly, what is local.

The Municipality of Aljustrel, with a view to revitalizing the economy and boosting small sales channels in the municipality, saw an application for the Rural Development Program approved (PDR 2020), under the measure 10 LEADER - “Operation Short Chains and Local Markets”.

The purpose of this application, entitled “Local Products Market”, co-financed in about 14 thousand euros for the EAFRD, is to promote direct contact between producers and consumers, contributing to the use and disposal of surplus products from family farming, and also the promotion of the more traditional and craft arts.

This candidacy will allow, so, streamline the sectors of small producers and artisans in all parishes in the municipality of Aljustrel and encourage consumption, increasingly, what is local. At the same time, will also contribute to the reduction of food waste, appealing to the consumption of seasonal products, namely fresh and quality. The intention is also to contribute to the strengthening of ties and to the strengthening of trust between producers / artisans and consumers.

With the approval of this project,, that is why, markets are being held in all parishes in the municipality of Aljustrel, which still intend to involve, dynamizing the territory and serving as an attraction, so that it is possible to bring more visitors and potential customers.

Be able to, so, sell products more easily and sell goods directly to final consumers, being beneficial to everyone involved.

In a particularly difficult time, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, believes that this project can help revitalize the economy in the Municipality, but also to stimulate development and satisfy demand and provide more supply opportunities.
