The Municipality of Aljustrel built, in Messejana, a picnic park. This work, which is included in the area of improvement of access to Bairro de São Brás and Estrada Nacional 263, intended to create another leisure space for the population and visitors.
This outdoor park, that allowed the requalification of an area that was without public utility, was visited yesterday by the students of the Basic School of Messejana for a picnic.
This picnic was included in the scope of the “Combating Food Waste”, that the municipality is promoting in the different educational establishments in the municipality and which is part of the European Network “Volunteering City – Urbact, of which the municipality is a part, and the students also got to know the mascot of this activity, the “Broccoli”.
This new space for the population to enjoy, and of all those who visit the parish, was equipped with tables and benches, a bench with support barbecue and water point, lighting and new wooded and landscaped areas. A new road shelter was also created, located on the outskirts of the park, and various bins placed.
For the City Council of Aljustrel, this investment will allow the valorization of the territory, creating a new point of attraction and visit in a land that has countless tourist potential.
The Municipality of Aljustrel also wants this work to contribute to the preservation of nature and to the promotion of more sustainable lifestyles., providing new moments of conviviality to locals and outsiders.
