Aljustrel: Municipality is building "Mineira Lane Aljustrel"


The city of Aljustrel is developing a project called "Mining Lane Aljustrel".

This project, which develops in several stages, It provides for the creation of a great bike path that will link the village outlying areas, contributing to improving urban mobility, or promote tourism, promote healthy lifestyle and contribute to the revitalization of the mining districts, priceless historical heritage of Aljustrel.

The interventions at this stage (some already underway), under PEDU – Strategic Plans of Urban Development, They have an estimated 1 million and 82 thousand euros, supported the 85% by Portugal 2020, and will reach a total length of more than 6 kilometers of bike paths, located in the following areas: White flag, Mesh-Ferro, S neighborhoods. John, Vale d´Oca, Plano e Algares.

These devices are part of a cross promotion strategy greening of behavior, where sustainable mobility is an essential pillar, It constituting, equally, as privileged resources available to the population and visitors / tourists to enjoy the unique mining landscape of Aljustrel, whether by bike, walking or running.
