So that you can get to know a little more about our Candidate for Local Authorities 2021 in Almodôvar, here we leave a short biography.
António Sebastião held the position of Councilor of the City Council of Almodôvar for seven terms: CDU (1979 – 1982; 1982 – 1985; 1985 – 1989; 1989 – 1993) , as an independent, in the PPD / PSD list (1997 – 2001), as an independent (2013 – 2017) and, more recently, by PSD (2017 – 2021). He was President of the City Council of Almodôvar, elected by the PPD/PSD, in the mandates 2001/2005, 2005/2009 and 2009/2013.
In local authority of 2013 in disagreement with the PSD's Beja District Policy Commission, especially with deputy Mário Simões, António Sebastião joined a list of independent citizens, having the PSD list headed by João António Palma, then councilor in the municipality of Almodovar.
From 1976, six presidents have already passed through the Almodôvar City Council: Carlos Gago Morgadinho (4 year old) 1976-1977/1979-1982, José Bernardo Batista (1) 1978-1979, António do Carmo Salt (14) 1982-1996, Manuel Lopes Ribeiro (5) 1996-2001, António Sebastião (12) 2001-2013 and António Mestre Boot (8) 2013-2021.
It is recalled that last day 3 March, the National Municipal Coordination of the PSD presented the names of new candidates in municipalities where the PSD does not have the presidency of the chamber, the Beja district did not include any names of those already approved.
Second José Silvano, secretary-general and responsible for the National Municipal Coordination, the PSD “does not do without deciding which are the bets with more chances of winning cameras”, admitting that "there are dissonant choices" with local party structures, “Guaranteeing” that the National Directorate “will assume” the electoral results.
