Alqueva: Edia has two new irrigation blocks under construction.
We began the construction of two new Alqueva irrigation blocks inserted in the Enterprise expansion project under the National Irrigation Plan. These are irrigation blocks of Évora and the Cuba-Odivelas, totaling close to 6.000 hectares.
The area to the benefit of Évora Irrigation Block, It is about 3.000 He has, and it is located in Évora county, parishes of Horta das Figueiras, Our Lady of Machede and Coelheiros tower and is inserted into the subsystem Alqueva Development of Multiple Purposes of Alqueva.
This irrigation block will be equipped with a semi excavated reservoir and waterproofed with fabric and will have a useful volume 50 mil m3; one irrigation network with near 30 km; 25 hydrants and 45 mouths watering.
The irrigation block Cuba-Odivelas inserted into the same subsystem, develops between the Counties Cuba, Alvito and Ferreira do Alentejo, occupying an area near the 2.800 hectares.
The water outlet for the hydraulic circuit of Cuba-Odivelas will be located in the Alvito-Piso Channel, between the pipeline and the derivation VidÃgueira for Cuba West reservoir. The irrigation block-Cuba Odivelas will be equipped with a network of conduits with approximately 34 km long, 21 hydrants and 40 mouths watering.
It is recalled that already Alqueva team about 120 hectares with irrigation infrastructure, We are now starting the second stage for installation over about 50 hectares, totaling 2023 a total of 170 hectares.
