Alqueva: PS presents Parliamentary Question to the Minister of Agriculture.
Visando que o Governo esclareça duas questões, que considera importantes sobre Alqueva, o PS apresentou hoje na Assembleia da República, uma Pergunta Parlamentar, written, to ministra da Agricultura. Os socialistas dizem ter informações, não confirmadas, que o Governo terá comprometido com Bruxelas “o racionamento e o aumento do preço da água”.
Através de Luís Pita Ameixa, Member elected by Beja and Miguel Freitas, Deputy Coordinator of Agriculture, os socialistas consideram importante que, to eight months of the period scheduled by the Government for the completion of the works of Alqueva, Asuncion Ridges explain what the compromise on the price of water, and, full completion of the works by the end of this year.
The questions to be answered by the holder of Agriculture folder, justificam Pita Ameixa e Miguel Freitas com o facto de o Governo Português ter “negotiated the financing of works with non-agricultural funds - ERDF and Cohesion Fund - including the removal of 76 million to the Alentejo Regional Program”, leaving in the air the question of what the counterparts concerned. “The Parliamentary Assembly of the Socialist Party has information, although not officially confirmed, that the Portuguese Government have committed to limit the use of water in agriculture, in 7,5%, and increasing the price of water supplied by the Alqueva for agriculture”.

No documento emitido pelos deputados socialistas, estes justificam que “o atual Governo, no início do seu mandato, começou por desvalorizar o projeto Alqueva e preconizou a sua paragem na fase em que estava, invocando mesmo o seu não aproveitamento por parte da agricultura alentejana”!
Os eleitos lembram que o Partido Socialista fez uma “denúncia imediata” e promoveu acções junto de diversas entidades, nomeadamente de associações representativas dos agricultores, que segundo os socialistas “fizeram o Governo recuar na sua política”. O deputados dizem que “foram perdidos dois anos no prazo de conclusão do projeto (of 2013 to 2015)”, arguing that “naquela sua política de não conclusão do projeto, ter retirado ao mesmo a programação de verbas comunitárias agrícolas para o respetivo financiamento, sem ter então qualquer alternativa”.
