Alqueva: Alentejo tourism presents today “project “Transalentejo-pedestrian paths”.
A Turismo do Alentejo / Ribatejo points today, starting the project the land "Transalentejo - walking routes Alqueva", with the Presentation Party "11 Routes - 6 Up-to-week ", to begin with the path "Fantastic Serra d'Ossa", in Borba county.
The said event includes the launch of a guide composed of eleven walking trails, structured in the area of ​​influence of Lake Alqueva and the Guadiana River, edited in Portuguese and English, and presenting different properly studied rails, mapped, flagged, and enables walkers the opportunity to discover the diverse landscapes that make up the vast and rich natural and cultural heritage of Alentejo.
The Guide "Transalentejo - walking routes Alqueva", homologated by the Federation of Camping and Mountaineering Portugal, lovers of trekking find a detailed description of the path, and a summary of some of the points of interest and a map with the route of the track and points and marked interest.
Created in order to support the organized practice of hiking, the Guide - designed by Alentejo Tourism / Ribatejo, with the collaboration of the municipalities of the areas covered and the technical support of the Alentejo Inheritance Association and SAL - is available in print in tourist offices and housing units in the region and housed in www.visitalentejo.pt site.
The eleven walking routes will be marketed through tour programs, promoted by various accredited operators - such as SAL - are developed in conjunction with the territory accommodation units.
To mark the launch of the project, Regional Entity of Tourism and representatives of local authorities, the tourist activities and accommodation units will follow, for six fins-de-semana, the walkers that will go the eleven paths Guide. The initiative involves the municipalities of Borba, Alandroal, Mértola, Serpa, Beja, Portel, Mourao, Reguengos de Monsaraz, Canyons, Moura and Redondo.
