Approved at the meeting of the Executive of the Chamber of Beja, the draft of the cooperation protocol to be signed with the Volunteer Firefighters of Beja will be submitted to the next Municipal Assembly of Beja (AMBeja).
The document was approved at the council meeting held last day 26 January, with the favorable votes of the two councilors of the PS, since the mayor was absent, and the alderman of the “Beja Consegue” coalition and three abstentions from the CDU councilors.
The draft provides for the transfer of the annual subsidy to be attributed by the Municipality of Beja to the Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Beja (AHBVB) of 120 thousand to 220 thousand euros and is submitted to the vote of AMBeja, as it will be in effect for the next four years, between 2013 and 2016.
At the Executive meeting, the CDU councilors abstained because they defended that the amount to be attributed was 120.000 euros, increased 10 thousand euros/month, which would mean that the total amount would be 240 thousand euros.
At the meeting, chaired by the vice-president of the City Hall, Rui Marreiros, this justified that "the 220 thousand euros include all occasional support and others, including the payment of the Permanent Group of Firefighters (GPB), plus the payment of the two Permanent Intervention Teams (EIP), that cost 80.000 euros/year”, concluded.
The AMBeja session will take place on the next day 27 February 2023, by 17.45 hours, in the Main Hall of the Civil former Government building, being composed of a total of 33 elected, being that PS elected 16 municipal deputies, the CDU managed 13 and the PSD/Coalition obtained 4.
