The national program for removing asbestos from schools received 486 nominations by 149 counties. Revelation of the Ministry of Territorial Cohesion (MCT) in a statement.
The applications submitted requested a budget of around 78,7 million, although the investment foreseen in the program is 52 million. The Government has already admitted, however, that this value may be reinforced.
According to the MCT, in the North region were 176 schools in 49 counties; no Center, 101 schools in 50 counties; Lisbon and Tagus Valley, 143 schools in 16 counties; Alentejo, 38 schools in 23 counties; and no Algarve, 28 schools in 11 counties.
The Government guarantees that “the financing of approved interventions that are provided for in the call for tenders will be ensured at 100% by European funds” of each of the Regional Operational Programs through which applications were submitted.
