José António Cardoso is nominated by IEFP in the category of “Entrepreneurship and Innovation” within the scope of the National Crafts Award that the Institute promotes annually.

The Mayor of Beja recalls that José António Cardoso “is a craftsman of violas and guitars and has his workshop in Trindade, in the Union of Parishes of Albernoa and Trindade, municipality of Beja”.

Paulo Arsénio reinforces that “this is a very fair appointment that recognizes, distinguishes and honors Master José António Cardoso, his trade, your community and our municipality”.

The National Craftsmanship Award (PNA) which takes place bi-annually, consists of valuing paths and performances of excellence in the arts and crafts, through institutional recognition and the granting of a financial incentive for the development of the activity.

The PNA aims to encourage artisanal production, in its traditional and contemporary aspects, distinguishing artisans by valuing their technical and professional skills, as well as its aesthetic capacity. Includes, yet, the recognition of relevant interventions by public and private entities in the promotion of artisanal activities, as well as encouraging the development of research work in the field of arts and crafts.
