Assembly of the Republic: access rates applied to road infrastructure.
Members of the PS, elected in the districts of Beja and Évora, Pedro Carmo and Norberto Duckling, received garantis concierge suspension 357/2015 and the collection of fees by the Road Infrastructure, SADDLE.
In the framework of parliamentary activity in support of local development and the safeguarding of the Rural World, Members of the Socialist Party elected by Évora, Norberto Duckling, and by Beja, Pedro do Carmo, have undertaken various steps in order to achieve the suspension of Ordinance fixing accesses utilization rates on the roads under the jurisdiction of Portugal SA Infrastructures, in relation to farm buildings and dwellings.
After taken position against the collection of fees and other awareness-raising initiatives for the suspension, the Member of the PS to the Assembly of the Republic met with the Secretary of State for Local Government, Carlos Miguel and the Secretary of State for Infrastructures, Guilherme W. d’Oliveira Martins, making them aware of the injustice of the application of the charges and its dubious legality.
Elected received from such members of the great receptivity and commitment Government in resolving the problem posed by citizens on the publication of Ordinance No. 357/2015, government PSD / CDS ten days after completion of the last parliamentary elections. Norberto Duckling and Pedro do Carmo were assured that the rates established under the Ordinance shall be suspended.
Rates are a shameful attack on mobility and development activities in nearby areas or in regional and national roads and the resilience of our rural world.
Applying these rates to farm buildings and dwellings, ranging from 500 euros for the conduct of proceedings, to 200 euros by issuing opinions or to 300 euros for the license revalidation, It proves to be absolutely unfair because many of the farms and residential buildings already existed for several dozen years, some even before the construction of the roads themselves, never pay any fee.
The elected Socialist Party will continue to monitor the situation towards solving another problem inherited from the previous government.
