city Council: Motion approved on the need for PRR funds for the municipality of Beja.

The Municipal Assembly of Beja approved by majority, with the abstention of PS elected officials, a Motion on the need for PRR strategic structural funds for the municipality.

The document argues that “investments have not been included in successive state budgets; it will be possible, perfectly, include them within the scope of the PRR’s strategic structural funds”, for what the Municipal Assembly of Beja proposes to the Government (or whoever emerges from the elections of 10 March 2024) to adopt the following policy measures, through the Recovery and Resilience Plan:

Strengthening the provision of healthcare, through hiring professionals; and the construction of the second phase of the José Joaquim Fernandes Hospital.

Improving accessibility, through the completion of the A26 and IC27; and the modernization and electrification of the Beja-Casa Branca railway line, as well as the recovery of the route to the Algarve.

The Motion argues that the modernization and development of the Beja district must be, necessarily, supported by political will.
