Local authorities: Aljustrel is the twelfth longest it takes to pay suppliers.

The Municipality of Aljustrel is one of those that paid more than 60 days and which worsened the situation in the second quarter of 2024. He started paying the 76 days when I paid 73.

The delay in paying suppliers by the “Vila Mineira” municipality has been increasing for a year now., since in 30 June 2023 paid to 51 days and a year later pays the 76 days, according to data released by the General Directorate of Local Authorities, cited by Eco/Sapo.

The data reveals that the Municipality of Aljustrel passed the 51 days, in the second quarter of the year, to 53 in the third quarter and rose 20 days, passing at the end of the year to 73 days. At the end of the first quarter of 2024 kept the same 73 days, moving on to 76 at the end of last June.

In a universe of 208 municipalities for which data exist (there are none for the rest 100 municipalities in the country), eight took more than 90 days to pay invoices to suppliers, three more than in the previous quarter. But, in the first quarter there were only 99 municipalities with information validated in the Information System for the Local Administration Subsector (Sisal). With overpayments of 60 days, according to DGAL data, There 17 authorities, Aljustrel is the only one from Alentejo to make this list.

It should also be said that the ranking average payment deadlines for local authorities have long suffered from a lack of comparability. Eco/Sapo highlights that since the fourth quarter of 2019 that there is no complete list that includes the 308 municipalities due to technical difficulties in adapting to the new Accounting Standardization System for Public Administrations (SNC-AP) introduced in 2020. It is not only the average payment term of municipalities that is affected. The measurement of your debt level was also affected.
