The Chega Party announced on Wednesday that Idalete de Jesus Alves Pereira de Brito is the candidate for the Municipality of Ourique in the next municipal elections.
In a statement, Chega says that the candidate is a natural and resident in Ourique, has 44 year old, married and is the mother of 3 children. She has a degree in Social Sciences - Social Work and currently works as a Socio-cultural Animator in an IPSS in the Municipality of Ourique.
The party states in the document that the candidate “assumes this candidacy with the objective of making Ourique a better municipality, where it tastes like to live, where citizens feel equal opportunities and access to all services. It also aims to make the municipality more attractive for businessmen, traders and farmers, so that they can create new jobs and generate wealth for their development”.
The team of Idalete Brito has as objective according to Chega “put Ourique on the road to success”.
Idalete Brito is the wife of Rui Brito, a PSD activist who paraded the party some time ago.
The candidacy of Idalete Brito is the third to be known in the municipality of Ourique, after the announcements of Joaquim Barbio candidate by CDU and Gonçalo Valente by the PSD / CDS-PP Coalition announced the name of Gonçalo Valente, born in Ourique and president of the Beja District of the PSD. Although the announcement has not yet been made, the PS will re-run the current mayor Marcelo Guerreiro, who is serving his first term after in August 2015 having taken the place of Pedro do Carmo who was running for election and was elected in the October Legislatures of that year.
Marcelo saved (PS) was elected in 2017 with 63,21% of the vote, second was António Afonso (PSD) with 21,76% and finally José Filipe Estevens (CDU) that registered 11,88%.
