The Serpa Concelhia Political Committee of the Socialist Party (PS) approved the candidacy of the independent Tomé Guerreiro Panazeite as candidate for the presidency of the Municipality of Serpa, in the next municipal elections.
The PS in Serpa understands that Tomé Panazeite, represents a new stage for the Municipality of Serpa, built on the values of Democracy, of Honesty and Equality. The change the municipality needs, that citizens long for and deserve so much.
Born in the Parish of Vila Nova de São Bento, resident in Serpa, agronomist engineer, Graduated from the Escola Superior Agrária de Beja, where completed, also, a postgraduate degree in Agronomy. Served the country during 34 year old, in the Republican National Guard, where he reached the top of his career as Sergeant Major.
Tomé Panazeite is currently an Agricultural Entrepreneur, the candidate is a defender of the rural world and passionate about organic farming. Graduated in these same areas, implements and contributes to the dissemination of these agricultural practices, whether accompanying producers in the field, or intervening in its defense in colloquiums and seminars within the general scope of agriculture.
Was 2017, PS candidate for the presidency of the Union of Parishes of VNSB and Vale de Vargo, occupying the position of member of the Parish Assembly, what brought you experience and practice in political life, since it has been performing its role actively and consistently.
According to the Serpa Council of the Socialist Party, “this candidacy is based on the project that the Serpa PS has been defending over the last few years, since the fundamental issues remain open in the municipality”.
This is the second announcement to the Chamber of Serpa after the name of José Damião Felix was announced, who leads the PSD/CDS-PP list, and the CDU must renew its confidence in current president Tomé Pires, who in 2017 got 49,04% of the vote, against 32,20% by Manuel Gomes, PS candidate.
The Municipality of Serpa has known since 1976 only three mayors and all from the CDU: Satiro Costa Louzeiro (3 year old) 1976-1979, João Manuel Rocha Silva (33) 1979-2012 and Thomas Martins Pires (9) 2012-2021.
