The Democratic Coalition Unit (CDU) announced that José João Guerreiro is the CDU candidate for Ferreira do Alentejo City Council.
Joseph John Spear Warrior, of 70 year old, He was already president of the Chamber of Ferreira do Alentejo, between 1982 and 1993, in the parish and municipality of Ferreira do Alentejo.
In the Municipal Elections of December 1979, was elected Councilor of the Municipal Council of Ferreira do Alentejo, having assumed the Council on a permanent basis in March 1980.
Worked for the General Directorate of Mines and Geological Services, at the Mining Development Service – Ferreira do Alentejo Section, where he was a delegate and leader of the Public Service Union of the south zone, having participated in its foundation.
With the Revolution of 25 April, joined the Portuguese Communist Party in March 1975, having been responsible for the UJC – Communist Youth Union – in Ferreira do Alentejo. He is elected in the Municipal Assembly of Ferreira do Alentejo.
This is the third presidential candidacy in Ferreira do Alentejo, after those of José Pereira were known, by the PSD-CDS/PP Coalition.
In the local elections held on 2017, Luís Pita Ameixa achieved the most significant result in the Beja district by obtaining 67,69% of the vote, “crushing” Paulo Conde, CDU candidate who achieved 20,52% and 7,55% by José Pereira, of the PSD-CDS/PP Coalition.
Since the first free elections, the Municipality of Ferreira do Alentejo met five mayors, with Luís Pita Ameixa taking office for the second time: Jose Luis New Plum (6 year old) 1976-1982, Joseph John Spear Warrior (11) 1982-1993, Luis Antonio Pita Plum (16) 1993-2005 and 2017-2021, Joshua Ferreira dos Santos (1) 2005 Aníbal Coelho e Costa (12) 2005-2017.
