Local 25: Francisco Picareta leads PS candidacy to the Serpa Chamber.


Francisco Picareta is the candidate of the Socialist Party (PS) the presidency of the Serpa City Council, in municipal elections 2025.

Ricardo Mestre will be the candidate for the presidency of the Municipal Assembly and Ivo Garcias to the Presidency of the Union of the Parishes of Serpa (Salvador and Santa Maria).

In a statement, The PS states that “the choice of this team was unanimously approved at a meeting of the PS Montal Political Commission, based on the leadership profile, competence and experience of candidates, associated with your great desire to serve the community of the municipality of Serpa â€.

Francisco Picareta, 49 year old, Civil engineer, born and resident in Serpa, there is not, Nor did, political affiliation.

Francisco Picareta is the fifth candidate announced in the race to the presidency of the Serpa Chamber, After João Dias (CDU), Mário Cavaco (Enough), Ana Moisao (PSD) and João Rocha (Independent)

History of the Presidents of the Chamber of Serpa

The Municipality of Serpa has so far had 4 presidents: Satiro Costa Louzeiro (3 year old) 1976-1979 elected by APU, João Manuel Rocha Silva (33) 1979-2012 Elected by APU and CDU, Tomé Martins Pires (9) 2012-2021 Elected by CDU and João Efigénio (4) 2021-2025 elected by the CDU. The Municipality of Serpa is the only one that has always been led by the same political force, Apples I cdu, headed by the pcp.
