João Duarte Palma, President of the Municipal Assembly of Cuba, will be the CDU candidate for the presidency of the Municipality in the Municipal elections of 2025.
Born in the municipality of Cuba, has 44 years old and has a degree in civil engineering from the Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa (LOW) and has been president of the Cuban Municipal Assembly since 2013.
Lidador NotÃcias found out from a source familiar with the process, that João Duarte Palma, will be the successor of João Português, the incumbent president cannot re-run, due to reaching the term limit.
The Municipality of Cuba has had four presidents to date: Francisco Felgueiras Rodrigues (6 year old) 1976-1982, António da Gloria São Brás (15) 1982-1997, Francisco Chicken Ear (16) 1997-2013 and John Manuel Casaca Portuguese (12) 2013-2025
CDU re-runs for presidents in Barrancos and Vidigueira
Leonel Rodrigues, in Barrancos, and Rui Raposo, in Vidigueira, mayors who lead their respective City Councils, will be nominated as candidates for another term by the CDU. The mayor of Barranco is serving his first term and the mayor of Vidigueirense is in his second.
Applications for Beja and Serpa
It is recalled that last day 11 of December, the Unitary Democratic Coalition-CDU, made public that in the Municipal Elections of 2025, VÃtor Picado is the candidate for the Presidency of the Beja City Council and João Dias is the candidate for the presidency of the Serpa City Council.
