With enrollment in the ECOXXI Program taking place until the next day 30 May, the Municipality of Beja is the only registered district for this year's edition.
The Municipality of Beja may receive the Green Flag ECOXXI award for the fourth consecutive time, what happens since 2020, a program coordinated by the Blue Flag Association of Europe, which aims to encourage and promote the implementation of local sustainability policies and practices at the municipal level.
According to the ECOXXI page, the Municipality of Beja also received this award, no matter what in another format, between 2009 and 2013.
Through an annual application that focuses on 21 indicators, ECOXXI seeks to recognize and value the work carried out by municipalities and the path taken towards building more sustainable territories and communities.
The recognition of this work is materialized through the attribution of the Green Flag ECOXXI award to municipalities that obtain an index equal to or greater than 50% in your candidacy.
