InĂŞs had gone into labor and her daughter was born near Vila Verde de Ficalho, Serpa county, a 55 kilometers from the maternity hospital of Beja.
The girl was born this Wednesday, in an ambulance from the Barrancos Volunteer Fire Department (BVB) during the transport of the mother to the Maternity Unit of Hospital José Joaquim Fernandes, in Beja, after having traveled 45 kilometers from the exit of Vila Raiana.
JoĂŁo Agulhas, comandante dos BVB revelou ao Lidador NotĂcias (LN) que “recebemos o alerta cerca das 12,45 horas e como a senhora apresenta estar em trabalhos de parto, atravĂ©s do CODU, pedidos o apoio da viatura SIV de Moura. A enfermeira foi na nossa ambulância e antes de Ficalho, parámos e efetuou-se o parto” revelou.
The birth took place around 14,15 hours, com um parto a ser feito pela enfermeira com a ajuda dos bombeiros, when the Emergency and Resuscitation Medical Vehicle (VMER) from Beja hospital went to meet the ambulance and SIV, which was later demobilized.
After childbirth, mother InĂŞs and her newborn daughter who will be named Iara, were transported to the maternity ward of the Beja hospital, where they are in good health, expected to rise in the next 24 hours.
O comandante dos Bombeiros de Barrancos acrescentou que “há seis meses fizemos outro parto na ambulância. Barrancos fica longe de Beja e estamos sempre preparados para trazer ao mundo novos conterrâneos”, justificou feliz João Agulhas.
