Canyons: The frontier municipality is of those who have less financial autonomy in the country.


CMBarrancos - geral_800x800Sixteen municipalities in the Alentejo are among the 50 municipalities that have a lower Financial Independence, for the year 2014, whereas Barrancos who he has less financial autonomy of the region.

The city of Barrancos is in 4th place nationally and in 1st place in the list of Alentejo municipalities with less financial autonomy, according to the Financial Yearbook of Portuguese Municipalities 2014, of the Order of Chartered Accountants, recently published.

The study considers that there is financial independence where own revenues represent, at least, 50% of total revenues.

The list of the most financially independent is composed of 50 counties, and only one Alentejo municipality (Grândola) appears in the list, 48th.

Among the 50 They are more dependent financially 15 Alentejo municipalities, as is the case of Barrancos, followed soon Monforte, 15º in the country and 2nd in Alentejo, and Almodovar, 16º in Portugal and 3 in the Alentejo region.
