Paulo Duarte, 54 year old, was yesterday convicted of a Collective of Judges of the Court of Beja 14 years in prison, in legal height, for two crimes of homicide one qualified and the other simple, both in the attempted form and aggravated and, one of domestic violence.
The defendant was convicted in the partial sentences of 10 years for the qualified attempt, 5 years for the simple and 2 years for domestic violence.
The individual also had as accessory penalties the payment of damages to the two victims who became assistants in the process in the amount of 70 thousand euros, 50 thousand to one and 20 thousand the other and, to the Local Health Unit of Baixo Alentejo and the ban on contacting his ex-girlfriend for five years and the frequency of specific programs for the prevention of domestic violence.
Na dawn 27 February of this year, Paulo Duarte, resident in São Matias, county Beja, did about 13 kilometers to a home in Vidigueira and then tried to kill his ex-girlfriend and a friend with three shotguns at close range and in the back.

In a very hard record, the magistrate heard the defendant's behavior saying that “the penalty does not make him a great girl. In jail you can walk with your head up â€, making it clear that the sentence would be much harder: “I cannot stretch, because if it were like in the United States of America that the sentences are full hands, had had another punishment â€, finished.
