Beja: 35Edition of the Ovibeja 27 from April to 01 May.


Only international competition for extra virgin olive oils made in Portugal is organized by Ovibeja. The 35th Ovibeja, scheduled for the week of 27 01de April to May, is already receiving many expressions of interest in the various thematic highlights.

The 8th International Competition of Extra Virgin Olive Oil - CA Award OVIBEJA, It is already underway and already has a wide membership. this competition, the only internationally held in Portugal, has gained, consecutively, prestigious, It is positioned as the world's best 1, alongside the prestigious "Mario Solinas", reinforcing the purposes of ACOS and assisting entities in your organization.

On 7Th edition 2017, They were brought to contest 150 samples of oil from 11 countries. Portugal and Spain were the most represented countries. The other regions where samples were were rececionadas: Italy, Greece, Germany, Chile, Brazil, Israel, Slovenia, Tunisia and Andorra. To emphasize that the prize contest has surpassed CA Ovibeja, samples and represented countries, the Competition Mario Solinas, the International Olive Council (WATCH).

The recognition and projection of the contest also is due to the professionalism and impartiality of the jurors because they are experts recognized by the IOC from different countries. In 2017 The panel was composed of a total of 40 jury, recognized by the IOC, Representatives of 12 nationalities.

With a wide range of participants, ranging from olive-growing companies, the business groups, cooperatives and individual producers, the competition level of quality makes it increasingly desirable also to large groups operating in the olive-growing area, both national expression, and international.

The categories are the scrutiny Fruity Mature, Fruity Green Light, Fruity Green Medium and Intense Fruity. The rules of the competition, presented in Portuguese, French, English and Spanish are available on the site Ovibeja, in www.ovibeja.pt.

The organization of the competition is the responsibility of South Farmers Association, which has the support of the Olive House.

With the emphasis of innovation coupled with the respect and appreciation of the roots of the field, there are many new developments that are being prepared for this edition of Ovibeja.
