An agent from the PSP Beja District Command, on duty at the Traffic Police of this city, will be judged as a material author, and in finished form, of committing four crimes: abuse of power, embezzlement of use, aggravated kidnapping and physical harm.
According to the indictment order of the public prosecutor (MP) Beja that the Lidador News (LN) We had access, the events occurred on the night of 20 September 2022, when the agent approached a woman after leaving the workplace and questioned her about words she had said in that place where the defendant's wife also works.
According to the MP, the agent, of 46 year old, I was in uniform, having traveled in a service vehicle, when, following an exchange of words with the woman, he was “ordered to be arrested and handcuffed”, which was taken to the police station inside another police vehicle.
At the police station, the defendant prepared a report for committing a crime of “resistance and coercion against an employee”, accused and notified to appear at the Beja MP services the following day.
In order charge, the MP maintains that the defendant, by “resolving a personal problem with the offended, committed acts contrary to the duties of his position”, justifies the magistrate responsible for issuing the order.
After the occurrence, the woman went to Beja Hospital to be observed, as he would have some ailments on his right arm and shoulder, motivated by the act of handcuffing behind the back. Afterwards the offended, who became an assistant, filed a complaint that led to the case against the police officer.
The agent is subject to an identity and residence term (TIR), will be judged by a Panel of Judges, and according to a source from the Beja District Command of the PSP “it is at the service, an internal disciplinary process has been initiated and awaits the court decision”.
