Beja City Council signed, on 8 April, The contract for the remodeling of public space in the drawer between Rua das Portas de Mértola and Jacinto Freire de Andrade Street, a space that commonly identified as an entry area for Caixa Geral de Depósitos.
Increasing improvements in the square at the level of accessibility is one of the objectives to achieve, while we will seek to “create a public square that allows contemplation, stay and leisure, allowing circulation in comfort and pleasant conditions and provide the user to enjoy the identity of the place ”, read in the descriptive memory of the project.
The redefinition of pavements as well as the construction of ramps and stairs will be performed using the marble of trigaches. The intervention contemplates the installation of a sculpture alluding to the poet poet Al Mutamid, Authored by the artist Silvestre Raposo; The installation of a panel that will display information on the historical relevance of the site and the installation of patches and banks.
The remodeling work of this drawer has a cost of € 118.664,99, VAT INCLUDED, will take place for a period of 90 days and will be in charge of the contractor seller of the contest - a h&S Engineering and Construction, Lda.
