Beja: Municipal Library reopened on Monday, 18 May.


Municipal Library José Saramago, in Beja, reopened on Monday, day 18 May, for loans, returns and collection of book reservations. There is new schedule, conditioned tickets, limited capacity, priority service and prior scheduling.

The Municipality of Beja issued a statement on the reopening of the Municipal Library of Beja, José Saramago, that record closed to the public, due to the pandemic, but reopens doors the next day 18 May, with loan service “take awayâ€And a new schedule.

Starting from 18 May, the return services and loans for books and other documents reopen to the public, with security rules and in new hours. Between the 9h30 e as 20h00, of 2ª a 6ª the Library starts to provide this service, uninterrupted.

Users must place their order in advance, via email to the address bibliotecamunicipaldebejaemprestimo@cm-beja.pt or by number 284 311 901, marking the day and time for returning or receiving your order.

All users to enter the Library's facilities must have a protective mask and access to the building is subject to a maximum number of people, according to current rules.

Starting from 1 June and until 31 August, to maintain the current national guidelines, reopen the services of reprography [1 from June to 26 June, open between 2 pm and 8 pm | Starting from 29 June, open from 9:30 am to 8:00 pm], the services of multimedia [9h30-20h00], the latter, completely equipped with 10 new computers and with 4 for connection to users' laptops, more 2 compared to what existed, as, a Cafeteria Library [9h30-20h00] which also received new equipment.

The obligation to use protective masks remains and the number of people on the premises will remain conditioned, although readjusted to each of the rooms. These services will be available during the week, and on Saturdays between 2:30 pm and 8:00 pm.
