Beja: City Hall announces adoption of preventive measures on Covid-19.
The measures take effect from 00:00h 13 March 2020 and will remain in force until the day 15 April, inclusive, without prejudice to extend the period strictly necessary to ensure their aims.
The Beja Municipality justifies the importance to adopt preventive measures in the early stages of an epidemic threat, thus guaranteeing, greater effectiveness in combating same.

So, as Director of the Contingency Plan, defined by the authority under the COVID-19, DETERMINE taking the following preventive measures, by the municipality:
1 - Cancellation of all activities, recreational and public events of the municipality's responsibility, or where this is partner, namely spectacles, social events, cultural, sports and / or recreational;
2 - Closing to the public of cultural and social spaces, namely, Municipal Library, Unesco center, IMAX Pax JĂșlia, Museum Sembrano, Culture house, Tower of Homage Castle, Jorge Vieira Museum and Social Center Lidador;
3 - Suspension of activities in sporting venues, such as: Sports Complex Fernando Mamede, Municipal and Municipal Swimming Pools Sports pavilions;
4 - Suspension of personal assistance services, except in the Single Desk and Treasury, the period between 9:00h e as 12:30h, privileging contacts telephone or via e-mail;
5 - Closing the Tourist Office, Suspension tours, tourist entertainment and hiking services;
6 - Suspension of complementary shuttle service to the educational action activities including, study visits and educational projects promoted by the local authority, out of the Beja district.
The measures referred to in the preceding paragraphs, will be subject to full disclosure, including through public notice to be fixed in local style and the technological means available.
The municipality is not responsible for events or initiatives of external entities. The Municipality of Beja always fulfilled, and continues to meet, scrupulously all the recommendations issued by the Directorate General of Health (DGS), keeping in close cooperation and contact with the local health authorities. These measures exceed all published recommendations and disclosed to date and are aimed at safeguarding the health of the best local authority employees and other persons living or transiting in the municipal area.
