The Organizing Committee for the Official Celebrations of 50 years 25 de Abril promotes tomorrow, day 10 April, in Beja, several special events to celebrate this historic date.
The celebrations will take place throughout this year, on symbolic dates and moments and have various activities, including exhibitions, speeches, debates, cinema and concerts, which will remember and honor the various moments that marked the fight for freedom and democracy in Portugal.
The population of Beja and the region is invited to participate in these unique and important moments in the history of our country.
Starting from 10 April, 17h30, Portas de Mértola hosts two Street Exhibitions, “A little red light – Carnation the flower of freedom”, with posters from the José Pacheco Pereira Library and Archive. 18h00, "April 74/75 – One year of Diário do Alentejo, in the heat of the revolution”, Both exhibitions will be on view until 10 June, the latter will be itinerant throughout rural parishes.
The José Saramago Municipal Library will be the stage, at 18:30, the "Conference: 50 years of Democracy”, with Fernando Rosas, Joao Soares, Joaquim Matos and Marisa Saturnino, under the moderation of journalist Marco Cândido.
