Beja: Colonel IlÃdio Canas is the new commander of the Territorial Command of GNR.
Colonel IlÃdio Canas, today takes over as the new commander of the Territorial Command Beja, Also replacing Col Joaquim Figueiredo, passing today the Reserve. The General Commander of the GNR, Lieutenant General Manuel Mateus Costa da Silva Couto presides over the ceremony.
The Territorial Command Beja, on the premises of that quarter, held today from 11,00 hours, the swearing in ceremony of the new commander of the Territorial Command Beja (CTBeja), Colonel Augusto Vitorino IlÃdio Canas.
The official replaced Colonel Joaquim Figueiredo, who held the position for almost 4 year old, He took over in 9 December 2013 and now goes to the Reserve.

Colonel Augusto Victorino IlÃdio Canas joined the permanent staff of officers of the National Guard in 1989, having held various operational functions, Command and General Staff, which stand: Commander of Territorial Detachment in Montijo and later in Almada and Head of the General Command Psychology Office, and Psychology Center and the GNR Social Intervention. The official participated in several missions abroad, in East Timor and Cape Verde, having 2004 an integrated health ministry team in supporting Tsunami victims in Band Ach - Sumatra Island, Indonesia.
Degree in Organizational Psychology and Labor, the Lusophone University and Post graduate in Social and Organizational Psychology at ISCTE, still having several technical and professional courses, both in the training and promotion, as of expertise in different areas of the mission of the Guard.
By order of the Minister of Internal Affairs, of 14/12/2015, He was awarded the Public Safety Medal of Merit 1st Class, Lt Col then the cavalry, IlÃdio Augusto Victorino Canas.

Colonel Infantry Joaquim José Figueiredo Frade, has 52 year old, born in Vila Viçosa, He joined the National Guard in 3 October 1988, with post Alferes, after more than three years of service in the Portuguese Air Force, provided in Tancos of Air Bases and Lajes / Azores.
Of his career in the Guard, and various operational functions, teachers and general staff who played, there are the Platoon Commander and Company Instruction in the School of the Guard, Territorial Detachment Commander, Head of Section Unit of General Staff, and the 2nd Commander of the Territorial Command Portalegre.
He served two missions abroad, one in Angola, as a teacher coordinator of the Criminal Investigation course in the Science Institute of Luanda Police and chairperson of the Angola National Police, and another in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as Commander of the Specialized Unit of Criminal Investigation, integrada na EUFOR / ALTHEA, European Police Unit there intervening.
Before reaching Beja, the then Lieutenant Colonel Joaquim Figueiredo, I was in the Territorial Command from Portalegre 1997, which was 2 commander, when it was chosen by the General Commander of the GNR, Lieutenant General Louis Newton Parreira, to be the new commander of the Territorial Command Beja.
