Beja: EMAS has received during EGEN2017, Golden APDA-tubes award 2017.


The EMAS saw their work recognized during ENEG2017, upon receiving the APDA prize - Gold Tubes 2017, the theme "Best social responsibility action".

The EMAS participated in the National Meeting on Water and Sanitation Management Entities - ENEG 2017, organized by the Portuguese Association of Distribution and Water Drain (apda), that took place between 21 and 24 November in Lisbon Hotel.

The opportunities of the water sector, the main challenges and climate change, They were in reflection and debate, this is one of the largest industry events in Portugal. In this context the EMAS presented two communications, "The operational control for distributing water - Municipality Beja", integrated non-issue 1 event, water supply systems, and communication "EMAS Environmental Education Program - Water Heroes Project", under the theme 9, communication and education for water.

The highlight of the participation of the municipal company in this edition of ENEG2017, It was the recognition of the work done in the field of social action, where environmental awareness project "Water Heroes" played a key role, upon receiving the APDA prize - Gold Tubes 2017, the theme "Best social responsibility action".

It is a project launched in 2012, with a wide performance with the whole community, constitutes today a benchmark in what concerns the relationship with the community in general and the younger audience in particular. In the next cycle of the Water Heroes, to start in full in January 2018, It will address the issue of climate change with a special focus on dry and efficient use of water as a mitigation measure.

The distinction now received, reaffirmed the position of EMAS as a reference company in the water sector in Portugal, and sustain that investment in education and sustainable development is already part of your corporate identity.
