The new diplomats to Switzerland, yesterday were presented to the municipality of Beja. Thomas Kootman is the Honorary Consul, in Loulé, which has the district of Beja under its jurisdiction.
The Mayor of Beja received on Tuesday morning, in the Administrative Building of the Beja Fair and Exhibition Park, the Swiss Ambassador to Portugal, Dr. André Regli.
The official visit aimed to introduce the new Consul at the Embassy, Magdalena Betschart, who took office last June, and the new Honorary Consul of Switzerland in Loulé, Thomas Kottmann, which has jurisdiction over the Évora Districts, Beja e Faro.
During the meeting, several topics were addressed, namely, related to economic development, the possibility of carrying out cultural exchanges and, in case of need, availability of means within the scope of civil protection.
